mercury 110 9.8 year?

SN 3182802<br />This motor will not idle slow. With the throttle all the way off the motor runs way too fast. I have adjusted all the screws I can find with no luck. A neighbor says it may have the wrong carb on. The motor was given to me. It runs great at high rpm.<br />The carb has more than 1 number on it.<br />1399-1930, 1399-1133 and KB11A. Any Ideas? :confused:

Ok Scott this is what I have.. Your engine by serial number is a 1971 model. The KB11A tells me you have the correct carb on your engine. Put a carb kit in it and do a link and sync. You will need a manual.

ABOUT HOW MUCH FOR A CARB KIT AND WHAT PIECES WILL IT INCLUDE? ABOUT HOW MUCH FOR A MANUAL? CAN YOU EXPLAIN WHAT A LINK AND SYNC IS? WILL I NEED THE MANUAL FOR THE CARB KIT OR THE LINK AND SYNC? WHICH DO YOU THINK IS CAUSING THE HIGH RPM IDLE, THE LINK AND SYNC OR THE CARB PARTS? ARE THE HP RATINGS FOR THE OLD MOTORS OBTAINED DIFFERENTLY THAN THE NEWER ONES, SUCH AS MOTOR OUTPUT VERSES PROP OUTPUT?
