Mercury 110 (1971?) - common repair items on this engine?

I have a Merc 110 (serial #3019010) that I bought from someone at work for $200. He says it ran a few years ago, he bought it from an estate sale, but it doesn't appear to have been used much.

I took the carb apart and cleaned it out, then I ran it in a drum for a few seconds, it started and ran right away surprisingly, but the carb bowl was leaking bad and it wasn't pumping water so that's all I know.

I pulled the lower unit off, impeller was all bunged up, will definitely replace that and that rubber tube that comes out of the housing.

Will order a carb kit and get the carb sealed up.

I looked through the parts diagram for this engine, couldn't find a thermostat in all the sections. Does it even have one?

Any other common wear items I should order and expect to replace while trying to get this thing up and running? I know nothing about these engines, this one is almost 20 years older than me lol, are they decent engines worth fixing up?

Thanks!!

you have a 52 year old motor that was designed to be around for 15 - 20 years.

impellers are a common issue. there are two diameters of shaft (and two different impeller part numbers). so you need to know which diameter prior to buying.

the pre 1978 motors have steel shafts (not stainless) so they are a fresh-water only thing

I had one of these. The main issue I had was all the ignition/electrical wiring decomposed.
