Ok I bought a boat, a 86 bayliner. It has a Mercury 0850 motor on it SN 2120665. What year is it? I have changed the gas tank, hoses, adn plugs. it cranks and runs (with hose attached to inlet) when I move it to fast idle it does not sound as smooth...<br /><br />What do I need to do to the engine to make it ready for the water?<br /><br />Impeller<br />carbs<br />lower lube<br /><br />It has been sitting out in the weather with no cover for 5 years and I paid $100 for it and the trailer.<br /><br />I am going to get a repair manual today for it.<br />I have never worked on a boat motor (never had one) but have done cars...
