Hey there everyone,
I'm could use some new idea's for my two engine's. port is 3850 and star. is 4000 RPMs (wot)
one engine is getting at least 150 more rmp's at (wot) then the other one.For my boat system that would be top rpm is 4000.Even thou Merc. tells me they should be around 4200/4400, The bottom has enough coats of bottom paint to say that it be slowing her down. I have tuned these engines from top to bottom. From new carb's to compression test and cap,rotor,wires,coils and new elec. sensor,s/p, to fuel filters and set timing at om spec's I believe that was 8 degrees btdc. My props are 17 X17 with prop tunnels. I also check vent lines.
I'm using my flow scan gauge to measure rpm's should I advance the timing 2 or 4 degrees on port engine?
