Got a good one here! I've got a rocker arm stud rising up or maybe I should say pulling out from the head. Does anybody no how to fix the problem without taking the head off. Standing by.

fatback , replace it with a new one and use plenty of permanent locktite.this may work, other wise you will have to drill and pin it in.

Drill a hole in the base and drive in a roll pin. Or replace it with a screw in stud. You can drill and pin it without taking the head off if youre REAL careful. I would take the head off.

Good luck!

Drill into the base and through the stud and into the other side of the base on an angle. Drive in a roll or solid pin. Any automotive machine shop will know how to do it.

An old stock car trick. Very old, I'm sad to say.

Good luck!

Hey that's really what they are-race engines. Runnning at all those high RPM's. I ran dirt track and never had this problem on any of my eng. I'm old now and out of the loop. What size drill do recommend. The pin I can get at the hardware.

I think we used to go with a pin about 1/3 the diameter of the stud so the stud wasnt weakened a bunch. make the hole just big enough that the pin has to be tapped in. You dont want it to fall in - or out!

If the hole is oblonged too much a set of screw in studs may be in order.

Good luck!
