Mercruser 4.5 V-6 Bravo 3 Drive

Anyone have knowledge of the new 4.5 Mercruser and Bravo out drive. You thoughts.

It is the first of the 'purpose-designed' sterndrive engines from Mercury. (250 HP) Prior to that Merc used GM engines. Are you looking at this in terms of a specific boat? I think the engines were introduced in 2014. There is also a 6.2L 350 HP engine.

The Bravo Outdrive has been around since 1988 . . . pretty much bullet proof. Are you looking at Bravo 1, 2, or 3?

EDIT: my bad . . Bravo 3. counter rotating props. good for hole shot and heavier boats . . . Bravo 1 is better for go-fast.

Ayuh,..... I thought the 6.2l was a recycled Chevy parts motor,.... No,..??

I've never lain eyes on the 4.5l yet,.....

The 6.2 is made of parts from GM's performance division. Vortec heads, stock bore 350 block, GMPP 3.75" stroke crank and flat top pistons
