Mercruiser Trailer trim and Trim

Last time I went out on my boat I noticed while coming in that the trim went down only, the up button didn't seem to respond. Luckily the trailer trim worked, any ideas on what to check out? I am thinking it might be a faulty switch. Seems odd that the trailer trim works but the regular trim doesn't.

Ayuh,... Probably because the wires rotted off the limit switch on the drive, the trailer button merely by-passes it...
