Mercruiser TR or 215?

I have a 1970 Sea Rover with twin 302 mercruiser engines. I thought I had "TR" outdrives due to removable rear cover and 1 7/16 prop nut. However, I have Mercruiser 215e shift actuators. Is this a TR outdrive with a mercruiser transmission or a 215 outdrive? I'm looking for service info as these units have been laid up for 10 years.

Re: Mercruiser TR or 215?

looking at a mercruiser engine drive model year reference chart. it appears that in '70 and '71 a ford 302 was mated to a 215H drive... this appears to be the only two years that a 215H was used for anything. in '71 the 302 could have been a 215E also.

Thanks for the reply! Took me awhile to get the pics right size. The shift actuators are definitely 215E's, but could have been changed. The outdrive looks to be a TR. Info I got from mercstuff.com shows them available from 1970 thru 1990.
