Hello All,

I am installing a swim platform on my Chaparral 230 which has a bravo three drive. I understand I will need to install a pair of tilt limit spacers, one in each trim cyclinder, to keep the lower unit from bumping the swim platform. I have read the mercruiser manual where it covers the disassembly of the trim cylinders. I have a couple of questions. I have a spanner wrench for removing the end cap, and once I have this off will I be able to pull out the piston just enough to slip the spacer in without doing any further disassembly? Also will I be able to do this without disconnecting the hydraulic lines to the trim motor? I am just wondering how much actual disassembly I will need to do. Any advice offered will be greatly appreciated.

If they are horseshoe shaped spacers, yes, just remove the end cap and install. If they are donut shaped you will need to take it all apart.

The only lines you need to remove are the ones on the cylinder if you are removing the cylinder and taking it to the bench to install the spacers.
