I have an 89 Sea Ray with a 5.7 chevy and alfa one outdrive. My problem is the plastic squeeze handle in the top of the throttle handle is broken and inop. The throttle works fine, but I have to hunt for neutral because it won't "lock" when it reaches neutral. Anybody know where I can purchase this item? TIA Pat

The boat is sixty miles away, so I will have to get a picture of it when I go there. It is a very common Mercruiser unit. It has tilt and trim on upper handle and Trailering switch on the side of the handle. The "Throttle Only" button is square. Maybe that will help until I can get a picture of it. HTH Thanks Pat

That covers about 6 control boxes (that I'm familiar with)....

Just to give you an idea of how much diversity there is in control boxes... My boat doesn't even have a stern drive control. It's a gutted outboard box from the early 90s, (boat's early 70s, engine's mid 2000's, go figure ) but to the untrained eye there doesn't appear to be anything 'non-standard' about it...
