I have a Frankenstein boat on my hands I adapted a omc 140 (gm181) to a Mercruiser stern drive. And removed the raw water and added a keel cooler. The final thing I have to do is hook up the carb.

It had a merc 165 manifold with 250 inline six. Everything is there. My carb is oriented with the fuel intake towar bow. I don't know to get the throttle link which goes athwartship from centerline to the throttle cable that goes fore and aft.

Good luck with that. The later Merc 4 cylinders bring the throttle cable along the starboard side of the engine, then over the rocker cover and onto the carb, so the linkage pulls athwartship (I don't get to use proper terminology here much. Sounds like you might be navy/ex-navy, yes?).

Yeah seems that's the case, time to fabricate a linkage holder from aluminum. Darn! Thanks chris, im not naval, just thoroughly moistened.

Those later Mercruiser engines have the linkage point cast in as part of the rocker cover.... If you'd like to buy, a new one is about $240 (part #-851036T), but there's plenty on eBay for $20-50... rocker cover Mercruiser 3.0 | eBay

Very good and appreciated! Thank you. I'll likely fab something myself in a minimalistic and strong approach.
