hold on don't start messing around with its innards. Everyone likes to blame the carb but they usually find its a simple problem and not the carb.<br /><br />fiddling with the mixture screws is all you should do unless you want to started reading up on carbs. The secondary rods only come on at full throttle, no effect before then. <br /><br />If you are having carb problems at idle or just off idle the mixture screws may help. If you are convinced that the problem is part throttle, you should first disassemble the carb and rebuild, making sure that it is operating as it should, float height is critical and primary metering rods and such.<br /><br />Secondaries should be left alone until after the other stuff and the most critical thing on them is when they open, (adjusting the spring on theflapper) not the size of the rods.
