Re: mercruiser rebuild

If you are talking about the upper gearcase (driveshaft housing) new alpha one units sell for $2,500 CDN = $1,560 US. Rebuilt units are worth approximately $1,700 CDN = $1,060 US with a rebuildable core.

Re: mercruiser rebuild

Joker you can take your heads to a machine shop to have them checked out. They will be able to tell you if they are warped or if any valves are burnt.Did you get this engine real hot? What caused the heads to cook?Heads are not to expensive to have redone or you could just replace them as there not that expensive any more.Cast heads have really come down in price the last few years.Hope I helped a little.Jonny
