Can anyone tell me where I can get instructions / manual on how to rebuild a pre alpha trim pump? I have stripped mine (not the actual motor) and want to make sure I put it all back together properly.
Thank you,.

.. can you advise me where I can find Merc manual #1?
Ebay, mercury website or local repair shop

MCM manuals are hard to come by these days, especially old ones. I have seen oem reprints of 1, 2 and 3 but it's a copy of reprinted pictures and literature.

FYI, #1 covers all mcm/mie engines and drives for the appropriate serial range

Many thanks. I’ll see if I can track one down.

the trim pump inspects the commutator and the brushes ....the brush holder is pitted and the brushes are binding ...merc is a steel brush holder ...
dc motors are a bronze/brass brush holder is very good no corrosion ..
I am a electrical electronic tech ... I repair motors ... DC motor trains
