Mercruiser outdrive swap ?

I have a 1970 Glastron 140 HP 181ci 4cyl s/n2676880.<br /><br />Will this fit and does it have the correct gear ratio <br />(1977 MERCRUISER 120 HP 1.98R, S/N4646725)<br /><br />thanks.

Gear ratio should be ok and I think the 77 will fit the '70 housing, but someone will be along shortly with a definitive answer.

Sorry, did not clarify. <br />This is for the upper and lower drive assy only, not the engine, coupler, gimbal housing, etc.

I believe it will but someone with the proper books will be around shortly and can tell you for sure
