A few people at the marina have used Rustoleum black. You can also get good outdrive paint through iboats. Clean it well, use a good primer, and give it 4-5 coats of paint. Good luck. Hy

I used the Rustoleum and was pleased with the results and at least one year of durability. It's not a tough job - I got all geared up for a huge hassle, posted all sorts of questions (rec'd good answers which is why the job was fairly easy). Big thing is get it cleaned up - a used a wire brush - clean with some solvent (forget what) then tape off any overspray areas, anodes, etc.. A good primer coat(s) then a few finish coats. It's that simple.

And if Rustoleum is still too pricey for you, the ColorPlace that WalMart sells does fine too.
