Last october, I had an MC-1 drive resealed by a local marina as well as a water pump. Now there is oil leaking out if the pee hole on the lower right hole if viewed standing at the rear of the boat. I removed the top vent screw and about 4-6 oz of nice oil came out. I removed the lower drain for just a second, and it was more cloudy (sky blue color) but I saw no water. What seal failed? What should be my course of action?

I could not find this hole on my alpha one drive. If you guys need a picture, let me know.

would that be the starboard side? ;)

my first suspicion would be shift shaft seals. but before assuming, i'd think i'd pressure test and see if i couldn't locate by some soapy water bubbles.

to me, that don't sound to good. how can you over fill the drive when filling from the bottom till it leaks out the vent hole. ya just can't add another 4-6 oz. i wouldn't think. water intrusion? ya already think ya got a leak. time to find out what the low down is before the rusty's or something set in...

There is only one way to find the leak.
Drain the oil and do a pressure test of the drive. Then you will know what is leaking.
No way can anyone guess accurately what is leaking.

The drive was slightly pressurized when I took the top vent plug out. What would cause this?
