mercruiser leaking water next to water pump line

Just replaced the shift cable, bellows, and now i have water now comming into the boat from a small hole, next to the water pump hose, can anyone tell me what would cause this

leaking main bellows, improperly installed outdrive, dis-placed gasket or O ring
