Mercruiser inboard exhaust question

I'm replacing the risers and reducers on my new boat (26 tollycraft w/90's 255 mercruiser inboard) the risers were in bad shape, I dont think they would have lasted the season. My question is this: can I use fiberglass reducers right off the back of the risers? the mercruiser reducers are aluminum and have kind of a "kink" in them and the glass ones are just straight. My big concern is the safety of using fiberglass so close to the motor.

Re: Mercruiser inboard exhaust question

The exhaust is still quite hot at that point. I would stick to the aluminium reducers...
