Mercruiser / GM 387 motor, need help !!

I just purchased a used 327 GM motor and I need to find out wiring diagrams and manuals for it. Also specs on motor. Only number I have available is block # 3959512, no other tags anywhere, there were rumors it was a Crate motor rebuilt. It has 4bb carburator and point ignition. Also would like to replace points with newer electronic kind. Does anybody have any info ?<br /><br />Thanks.<br /><br />Val

Don't really have any specific info on that motor, but I know of several boaters in my area that have ditched the points for a Pertronix ignitor. It is a screwdriver-basic installation that replaces the points and condenser and really heats up the spark for about $75. Lots of bang for the buck!
