I attempted to have an exhaust bellows replaced on my Mercruiser. After replacement it would not stay attached on the boat side connection point even after using the adhesive. I was told it needed to be just about an inch longer but this bellows was factory specs. I was told to not use the bellows but another product that does not attach to both ends. The noise while running is now louder than with the bellows. Has anyone had this same problem or can help me solve this problem?

use the exhaust tube, it attaches to the transome side, and it takes about 5 min to put on, dont have to worry about it comming off and will last 10 times longer than that bellows, might be alittle louder than bellows, but some people say they dont hear anything different

Re: Mercruiser exhaust bellows

Question...I am a wet slip holder and after MarineMax replaced my bellow, it has come off. With the bellow off sitting in the slip, can any additional damage occur to the outdrive other than my headache of it being off? Thanks -

Re: Mercruiser exhaust bellows

I replaced mine with the tube and have had no problems at all. It was alot easier to install and hardly notice any difference in noise at all.

Good Luck and Happy boating
