I'm considering buying a used boat (26 ft.) with a 350 cu. in. engine and Bravo 3 Duo Prop. Any suggestions regarding the advantages or disadvantages over this outdrive versus a single prop outdrive? Maintenance, cost of repair, performance, etc.

Thanks for any assistance.

One of these drives has corrosion problems. Mercury made some changes and maby a service bulletin. You may find some info at www.boatered.com. Its a high dollar problem if out of warranty.

Hey Clanton,

Thanks for the info. :D I believe I did read an article about corrosion on this outdrive, possibly caused by shore power stray current.

thanks again for your reply...

I think there were more problems then shore power, there was quite a discussion on boatered about this.
