MY BOAT HAS A RESERVOIR IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT FOR THE GEAR LUBE. I JUST NOTICED THAT THE LEVEL IS A LITTLE BELOW THE FILL LINE. THIS BOAT ONLY HAS ABOUT 9 HRS. ON IT. IM PRETTY SURE THAT THE RESERVOIR WAS FULL WHEN I BROUGHT IT HOME. IS IT NORMAL TO GO THROUGH THAT MUCH OIL? IF SO WHERE DOES IT GO? IT STILL HAS ABOUT 3/4 TO 1 INCH OF OIL IN THE RESEVOIR, IS IT SAFE TO RUN?

Yes it is normal for thatgear oil level to drop in a new package or any time you change the gear oil .Most dealers provide you with some oil to compensate. That resivoir gravity feeds very thick gear oil to your gearcase. Air bubbles milk out slowly which causes what you might percieve as gear oil loss.Top the res. off then keep an eye on it.
