Mercruiser Alpha 1 Gen II leaking above speedo hose

Hey y’all
Have a 2008 Sea Ray 185 with 4.3L carbureted tks - just got the boat. When I fire it up on the hose, water seems to be slashing out of the little hole on the drive, above the Speedo hose/fitting. Please see pics … question is - is water suppose to come out here or is my drive cracked possibly and water is finding it’s way here and coming out?

That hole goes into the exhaust passage which is has the cooling water that is dumped overboard (exhaust is open to water on prop end) . The clip on the hose for the speedo is supposed to go in there, likely it was broken off at some point.
