Hi,
I'm looking at a cruiser yacht 370 with 660 hours. After the oil samples came back late June I was not happy. I was told the oil should be changed on both and then a new set of oil samples should be taken. So that is what I did, however the port engine oil was never changed. What do you guys thing of the lab results below, remember port oil was not changed but starboard was.

Port is image 1

Starboard is image 2

I'm not sure what to do. Do I walk away or stick this out?

Zinc is from an anti-wear additive. Phosphorous and Calcium are from detergents. Other numbers are very low. Is there a particular element that worries you?

Hi,
My concern here is the high copper on the Port Engine. Should I be concerned or it is minimal? It went up 6 PPM after 2 hours only.

All analytical methods have some error bars. My guess is if you ran 100 samples, a +/- of 6 ppm would be data noise.

oil cooler is copper, just the acids in the oil from normal combustion would dissolve a bit of copper over time. not enough to worry about.
