Hello, <br /><br />This is my first post on this board and I am happy I found it. I am not very mechanically inclined but am able to winterize and prepare the boat for the season. I was was wondering if anyone could help. <br /><br />I have a 70ish Mercruiser 650, I can start it if I hold the choke button down, and if I keep the lever under the throttle up, I can get it to fast idle. If I move quickly I can get it in gear and go fine, but once I stop and put it in neutral or slow way down it stops... Any suggestions? And just what exactly is that lever under the throttle? <br />Should I just take it in to a repair shop for an overhaul?? <br />Thanks for any help...<br /><br />Matt
