Hi everyone. I have a mercruiser 5.7l with closed cooling system and I was wondering what thermostat would I need. 140 or 160? Would it make any difference? Also, would it be ok to mount the thermostat directly on top of the intake (without using the sleeve) and then the housing on top? Also on the intake manifold gasket..there is a port right in the middle (i think is a pocket for coolant to go in). the new gasket comes with metal tabs to cover them..is it necessary to install them? Any help would be greatly appreciated..thanks!
