MerCruiser 5.7 "Bluewater" Inboard help

I have just recently bought a boat and it has 2 Mercruiser 5.7 "Bluewater" engines I am unable to find any information about these engines anywhere, any additional information that could be given on these engines would be greatly appreciated.

They're 350 Chevys, with freshwater cooling...

anything in particularly special about them ?or just basic 350 chev's with fresh cooling

Nope, aluminum oil pan, but you do understand that for the standard motor, aft entry ,you need a reverse rotation starter. For the CR motor ,aft entry , you need a standard starter.Aslo , check the trans coolers for age, should they fail the trans will fill with water.It is possable to route the port oil cooler over to the stbd side of the motor by modifying a hose.

anything in particularly special about them

nothing really special about em, not very different from the sterndrive model aside from no shift interrupt in the ignition system, and your flywheel cover/drive system is different
