The Mercrusier 4.3L in my 2000 Bayliner Capri sometimes just randomly shuts off while cruising or every once in a while at idle too. It always starts back up right away like nothing happened. It revs just fine and the boat goes to its top speed no problem.
While out on the lake over the weekend it ran great for maybe 1 hour with 40min of those pulling a 2 person tube. Then it started turning off randomly every 10 - 30min for the rest of the day. Sometimes it would turn off at top speed. And sometimes it would turn off at low speeds. It also wasn’t sputtering. Just straight up turning off.
I don’t know where to even start diagnosing this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
