Mercruiser 4.3L divorced choke initial setting

I have rebuilt the carburetor (Carter/Weber AFB) and am re-installing it. It has a "divorced choke" AKA "choke stove" on the intake manifold to control the choke. My question is whether this bi-metal coil needs to be pre-wound some number of turns when reattaching the linkage. Or, do I just connect it in its resting position?

(Note that there is NOT any electrical aspect to this choke.)

Yep that's the starting point but be prepared to make some adjustments..

Thanks for the prompt replies! I connected "at rest" and that works. Choke is closed (it is cold in Wisconsin today), and it opened up after a shake down cruise.
