Hi again.

I have 2 engines mercruiser 4.3 MPI year 2007.
When I bought the boat 4 years ago both engines were leaking oil from between the timing cover and oil pan. Took both engins out and changed the timing covers and oil pan gasket.

One of the engines is ok till now but the other one still leaks oil, I took it out 3 times and change the timing cover and the oil pan gasket each year.
Last year I bought a new oil pan and changed it too as was sugessted in past post, but with no result, now at end of season it leaked again.

I alway bought after market timing cover and oil pan gasket from mercruiser dealer.

Does any one have any advise or if I can do any thing else.

Stop buying after market, it's rubbish. Cheap, nasty Chinesium crap. And stop buying parts from Mercruiser stealerships (over-priced, then the 'marine tax' is added).

Get onto an on-line GM parts website and buy direct from the people who (not 'that') built the engine...
GM part numbers...
Oil pan - 12597153 (NLA from Mercury  $232 from GMPartsDirect) Was over $400 when Mercury were selling it.
Pan gasket - 10220906 ($52 from Mercury, $13 from GMSuperstore)
Timing cover - 93445880 ($327 from Mercury, $38 on GMSuperStore)

GMSuperstore and GMPartDirect were the first 'shops' to pop up on a search. There are plenty more, so use that as a guide and see how you go. You may be able to find another shop even cheaper.

Hi Chris

I checked the website ( GM store)but from the part list you gave me the timing coverand the oil pan are not the same as mine.

Did you know if some one ever did an aluminium timing cove?

In 2009 GM went to an aluminium cover. But the block is drilled differently and it doesn't fit on the 2007 block. I tried...

I'm surprised those parts aren't the same. What are your engine serial numbers? If you have composite timing covers, they are the right part numbers...

Engine serial number is 0W689500

All the same parts as my engine. Those are the right part numbers. (Remember, the drawings are just representations, not necessarily the exact part)...
