Hi all,
I need to order a set of 1.75:1 ratio rocker arms, balls and nuts for my 72 Mercruiser 140HP (3.0L 181CI) engine, noticed a few of them galled up during engine rebuild. Marine dealers want over $100 for the set, but from what I've found GM inline 6 engines use 1.75:1 3/8" rocker arm, ball and nut.
Harland Sharp lists 1.75 3/8" rockers for GM inline 6 cylinder engines, Crane Cams also lists the rocker ratio at 1.75 for the GM inline 6 engines. http://www.cranecams.com/?show=browseParts&lvl=2&prt=5&Vehicle_Type=Auto&Cylinders=6&Engine_Make=CHEVROLET&Year=1968&Engine_Size=194-250%20C.I.&partNumber=200511&partType=camshaft
I looked up the rocker arm assemblies for a 1968 ChevyII (inline 6 250 engine) and found them for $3.73 each, $30 for the set. Anyone know if the rocker arms from an early model (62-84) GM inline 6 are the same part used in the Mercruiser 3.0L (GM 181 4cyl)?
Thanks!
Dan
