Mercruiser 3.0L -Ignition-no spark problem

The engine shut off at high speed and would not start. <br />I checked it and I have fuel to the carb, no spark at plug, no spark at coil wire to distributor. I was wondering what is the test(voltage?) for the ignition coil and the other electronic control-distributor coil.<br />thanks!<br /><br />joe

hi I am not the most technical of these guys but we appear to have had a similar problem. 5.0 OMC Cobra 1994. engine ran fine then cut out allowed to cool ran fine for 5 mins then cut out. Changed dist cap, rotar arms and coil, ran 30 mins put it on the trailer refused to start following week and no spark. Have just changed the distributor module for a borrowed one fired up on first turn might be worth looking at
