I have a 1990 Bayliner Capri 2050. I got it professionally serviced but still got the problem, when it starts and I try to put it into a high gear forward it chokes. Most of the time, especially when I go slow, trying to pull the towable. It does it less when I push the lever faster, but still does the same once in a while. Im planning on taking it back to the place where it was serviced, but want to know what causes this and should this ?carburetor I assume? adjustment be done with the annual service or not.
Thank you

It's a carb issue, may be a combination between the accelerator pump and a dirty carb. Would also check the carbs internal filter item 37

I took it apart, man it was dirty and I mean REALLY dirty. Cleaned it up and am waiting for the kit to arrive to put it back together. However the needle was not worn at all and the float seems to be pretty new, will change them anyway. Overall after I cleaned it, carb looks like it is in a good shape. The only problem I encountered, was the locker nut on the carb that connects the fuel line to the carb. Was not able to unscrew it, looks like it is stuck, used liquid wrench, WD40, but still no results. Had to remove the fuel pipe completely to remove the carb. Gave the fuel line to my mechanic to try to unscrew it wo breaking the line. Otherwise will try to get it back together the same way I took it apart, screw it on to the carburetor and then install the carb and at the end hook up the fuel line to the fuel pump.

You really, really, really need to get the nut off the carb. There is a filter (item 4 in link above) behind it and from the carb being so dirty it is broken up and dirty.
