I get water in the #1 cylinder, I checked compression the number ! was filled with water, Thinking it was a head gas I sent the head out to have it done repaired a bad valve (from water) put I put it back together same problem . so I bought a new manifold and riser I put it back together again changed oil and filter started it up had a miss in it turned it off checked #1 filled with water again any ideas?

Sounds like your not trying to find out what the problem is, your just throwing money at it. Only thing you haven't replaced that could cause water into number 1 cylinder is the engine block. That is unless the engine was not put back together correctly.

Water by itself will not "damage" a valve, what was the real cause to have the valve replaced.
My guess it was an exaust valve that was puckered, and you will find a hole under the exaust valve just above the valve seat

I agree, I'd put money on a cracked intake port in the head possibly above the valve seat. It happened to me on a Chev V8 years ago, thought it was a blown head gasket but on the SECOND teardown and head check the crack showed up in the upper head.
