Hi, there, first time boater, just got my first ever boat, a 2005 Bayliner 192 cuddy.

Brought it to water, seems everything is running fine for about 30 minutes then all the sudden the engine stalled, along with every electronic stuff. Turns out the 50 amp circuit breaker on top of the Mercruiser 3.0 I4 engine was tripped.

The strange part, I can not reset the red button 50 amp breaker. I can push it down, and hear the beeping but it won't stay connected.

A little while later though, while seems the engine cools down a little bit, I can reset it and everything works fine.

I have to repeat this 5 times before I brought the boat back to port. Seems every time when it get too hot, it shut itself down, despite the engine temperature remain stable at 175F.

Is this means this breaker has to go?

If so, any idea if I can replace the OEM one with the one available on this site. The one on this site says working temperature up to 165F though.

Thanks in advance!

It could be the breaker has thermally failed and when it gets warm it trips. But you could also have a short drawing alot of current and the breaker is tripping preventing a boat fire.

Thanks jopes! Is any way to testing this? Can I replace the breaker with a fuse instead? Thanks!
