Mercruiser 3.0 in/out

Bought a new 21ft Sun Tracker Partydeck. Still breaking it in but, have noticed that when I kill it it takes a while to die. Keeps "klunking" on for several seconds like a worn out old Caprice. Could the timing be off already? haven't called the dealer yet.<br /> Anyone have any ideas what the cause might be? I can't throttle down any lower than idle before I switch it off, but it still does it.

Brian,<br /><br />Call the dealer. Tell him, "it's dieseling" on shut down.<br /><br />More than likely, the idle speed is too high, or the something is holding the throttle plates open slightly.
