Mercruiser 3.0 Engine Interchangeability '94 vs. '95

I have a 1995 Sea Ray Bowrider 175 with a Mercruiser 3.0 Engine. Unfortunately, the engine has a cracked block. The water jacket cracked after not being properly winterized. I was able to find a used Mercruiser 3.0 engine from a 1994 Sea Ray, which appears to be the same engine. However, some of the web sites indicate that the '94 engine is not interchangeable with the '95. Can I use the '94 engine in my boat?
