Alright heres the story .My grandfather bought his formula 25 pc back in 87 .Back in 97 he stopped using it . so i decided that it was time to get it back up and running again and then thats when i realised that i had no clue on what to do because i'm more of an outboard guy. so what kind of problems should i expect. how do i know if its pumping watter, how should one of these engines run rpm ect, and number one how should i start it what steps should i take . please reply.

After setting for 10 years, before you turn the engine over 1 revolution. Pull the distributor, get a tool for running the oil pump and pump some oil to the bearing before you move anything.
After that, if you don't know anything about Chevy V8 engines and Merc 260's specifically. Get some service manuals for it. (OEM not aftermarket) read them, understand them, then ask questions.
