Mercruiser 250cui IL6 165hp

Can someone give me a rough estimate of what it would cost to rebuild a '78 250cui IL6 165hp GM motor? I am thinking of two scenarios: 1) where I put in new rings, bearings and send out the head and just hone the cylinders and 2) where I do the above and also rebore, replace pistons and polish crank.<br /><br />Also, I plan on doing the rebuilb myself except for the head and crank.

You will need to "mic" the cylinders to know which way to go on the rebuild. Also replace the manafold and riser since this engine is pretty old. I have to say its one of the best engines out their.
