Mercruiser 2.8 D-Tronics 165HP Diesel - Any opinions?

Hi guys,
I'm currently looking at a Mercruiser 2.8 165HP (Crank) D-Tronic Turbo Diesel (2001) Does anyone have any opinions/experience with these?

I currently have the Merc 1.7DTI and I know that these engine are full of problems, eventhough ive been lucky and my 1.7 goes like stink, I don't want to be buying another potential problem engine

Any opinions/experience much appreciated!

Forgot to mention she's coupled with a Bravo II Stern-Drive... Any horror stories here?

IMHP they cost to much money to do the PM compared to the fuel saveings over a gas engine Unless you have a big boat that really needs it

PM => Periodic maintenance?

I have a diesel boat at the moment and find maintanance doesnt cost all that much.. Anyhow, back on topic!

I forgot to mention that i'm in Ireland. There is a big price difference between petrol/diesel so it's very worth while going for the diesel engine.

So does anyone have any opinions of the 2.8?!
