Easy way is to hit your local NAPA and ask for parts and specify that they are for a marine application. Most filters are the same for both. NAPA can distinguish what is available.

Bob :)

is this a v-6 or v-8, ford has distributer in the front, GM has in the back, v-6, gm is probably the 4.6 liter, v-8 gm it's the 305 ci, v-8 ford its the 302 ci, I don't know what v-6 fords were used in marine. just make sure they are narine grade, wires, starters, alternators, etc

Andy

mercury did use an in-line six cylinder also before the 4.6 liter, I don't know the displacement, ford in-line six was the 300 ci

I am guessing that you are talking about the 4 cylinder Mercruiser 190. The block is 1/2 of a Ford 460 but the engine was designed and built be Mercury.

Follwing are some part numbers that may hep you, these are Sierra numbers that can be found or crossed at a NAPA store. These are for the 4 cyl.

Dist cap 18-5385
Rotor 18-5418
Condenser 18-5345
Points 18-5311
Plug wires 18-8808
Oil filter 18-7824

NAPA used to have a marine catalog, their marine engine parts are made by Sierra.
