Mercruiser 165 oil cap. & type?

I just got a boat that has a Mercruiser 165 in it (that's what it says on the cover). I don't know much about boat engines so if anybody can point me to some info on them or how to figure in more detail what motor I have I'd appreciate it.

Anyways, my question is what kind of oil does it need and how much? The guy I bought it from says it takes 4 quarts or 5 if you replace the filter. He said he uses 30 weight. As I said, I don't know much about boat motors, so would that be SAE 30 oil? or 10W30? or 5W30?

inline 6 or inline 4

It's an inline 6. Wow, I feel kind of stupid. I just looked and it says on the cover "oil: sae30-se" So that answers that question.
