I am wondering what bigger motor i could use to replace my 1986 mercruiser 140. I am looking for a little more power. Is there any motor that will bolt right up?
502 might fit, locate the older 300 GM 6, bore it and cam it ,you`ll get over 300hp.
Realistically, how much do you want to spend? changing to another engine will mean new upper gears, exaust system, new front stringer mounts (V motors), larger engine hatch, cutting the floor for a larger engine hatch, larger gas tank.
