Hello Guys.
I have been offered to buy a running mercruiser 140 engine (#2960713)1968 to 1972 for $150. The owner told me that it runs and has not been over bored and the compression is 120/120/120/70.
My own engine is a 1984/5 that has one low cylinder (90). Can I over bore (if necessary) the older block and rebuild my 1984 on this restored block or is it too different?
Thank you for your advice and opinions.
Cornelis.

Ayuh,.... As far as I know, the only major change to that block, since it's beginnin', is 'round '90, the crank seal changed to a 1 piece...

There for, Yes, you should have little to No problems with yer plan...

Those blocks should easily take a .030 over-bore...
Yer Machinist can better answer any in detail questions 'bout their compatibility...

Ayuh,.... Donno,.... My neighbor says they're hittin' in Black River Bay, 'n 'round Point Peninsular,...

I Just finally got the houseboat moored in front of the house, 'n Hopefully, the Fishin' Barge will get launched This weekend...
What's normally a 4 hour operation(the houseboat), turned into a 2 week nightmare...
I still gotta service the Fishin' Barge, 'n drag it out to Chaumont...

Spring really got the jump on me this year,... I'm runnin' 'bout a month behind....
