I have a 1994 chaparral sl 200. It has an inboard outboard yamaha 5.0 liter V-8 I have replaced the impeller in the water pump for the summer and it wont suck water. The impeller was in pieces it went out on me the last time i had it at the lake. I don't know if their is another impeller on the lower unit somewhere that is bad or if thier is something wrong with the impeller i installed. When the boat is running the water pump is turning and the blades on the impeller are going in the right direction. I am stumped any help would be great. thanks.

start taking hoses loose and finding all those litle chunks of rubber from the old impeller. Chances are if it's a merc the power sreering cooler/oil cooler is plugged up with all that mess. if it's a merc it will be under the port side exhausr manifold, follow the big hoses. You might try to backflush with a hose and see what comes out. believe it or not it is best if the cooler is clogged Verses cooling jackets in heads. It's always best when you ask on forum to specify what power and drive type you have. some of the real experianced guys won't even look at your post with out all of the info. My impeller came apart one time on my bravo I /7.4 mercruiser and water would not flow from oil cooler at all, it was completely blocked. Good luck
