I am the "proud" owner of a 1700 Lund with a 1.6L Vazer. Purchased last winter took to local Mercury dealer for full service ($2K). Once the ice left took it to the lake, it would not start, got the kicker running and eventually the Vazer started, ran for maybe 15 minutes and the cooling system spung a leak. Back to the dealer, intake manifold likely warped, no parts and nobody will look at it. What options do i have? Estimate of about $25K to convert to outboard.

The boat is super clean i know now why cann't go in the water ;-(

Most of the vazers were recalled under warranty because they all failed

There are no parts, there is no service.

If the heat exchanger is leaking, take it to your local industrial radiator shop. They can fab up a conventional heat exchanger to replace the rubber tube sheet one.

If I recall, the motor came out of a GM/Toyota JC car like a Geo. May be able to find an intake manifold but Mercruiser may have done something special to it when they laid the motor on its side

Not sure the boat is worth spending $25k on
