Heres a new situation for me .The above mentioned engine was bought at auction for cheap and broght to me in a deckboat that looks as though it has been used as a diving platform. The guy that bought it took it out on his maiden voyage and when he squeezed it one of the spark plugs shot out of the hole .No problem you say , except only the porcelin part of the plug shot out and all the rest of the plugs are so corroded that I have allready broken one off at the base below the hex head, leaving only the threaded portion and electrode in the hole.Access is severely limmited and I needed to have someone hold my feet to get as far as I 've gotten.Bottom line, any old salts got a suggestion for getting those plug shells out without pulling the heads.Easyouts are just ripping through the material.

If it's possible......I'd use the fire wrench (heat)and follow it up with WD40. Alternate this a day or two. Then try your easy outs.

I like Kroil web page much better than WD-40. Soak plugs, let set, soak some more, etc.

Soaking the last three plugs in penetrant and engine tuner. This formula has worked wonders for me.The hot wrench gets a little more dicey as there are fuel cells on each side of this engine.I have this terrible mental image of the guy holding my feet with a blackened face and just holding my smokeing boots.Anyway thanks for the suggestions and it,s onward and upward from here.Just another pleasant day at the office. Thanks guys and keep 'em comeing.

I agree with bomar76 use kroil. This is by far the greatest penetrating oil on the market.Smells like cockie doodie but works wonders.

I'm new to Boats but have done work on many car motors (I dont care if you call it a motor or an engine Ill know what you mean)you have to yank the heads. With the junk that fell down in there already, combined with the high RPM's a boat runs you will make junk out of the hole thing in short order. It will be cheaper in the long run that is unless your looking to have a customer come back next season for a rebuild. I mean you will have about the same amount of time and labor wichever way you decide. You could the Heads off and back on in an 8hr shift easy.

Had the same problem once. Arc Welded an old 1/2 inch drive extension to the remains of the plug, put on the breaker bar and backed them right out. Took about 10 minuets, but it helps when you have a welder on your service truck. Cut the old plug off the extension for the next time I have a bolt or plug that is twisted off.
