I just got new cables in for the high idle and shift/throttle controls. First time taking one of these apart.

What should I be looking for? What grease or lube should I use?

Does everything look OK? Wires seem dirty but serviceable?!

How do I get the cable off? I pulled the retainer pin and can't get the peg out to get cable off?

The pin goes out the other side, so you have to remove the cam.

Good deal, it took me a minute or two. One cam I removed and the other one I just pushed up from the underside and lined up the retainer hole. Not to bad!

Thanks for the reply.

Mine just went back together on Friday. Make sure that your wire insulation isn't dried out and falling off, make sure that everything swings nice and smooth, make sure that brass roller isn't worn out and rolls easy, and look at the casting where that little stainless spring and ball for central neutral position goes to be sure that the aluminum isn't cracked or at least not cracked too bad as mine was. I put the slightest bit of blue BelRay waterproof grease on my pivot points.

That's what I forgot to do, grease it back up. I cleaned all the crap out of it. The wires look ok, nothing cracked and connections look solid. The neutral plate and ball was solid, I wasn't sure what that ball was for, thanks I know now....lol

Will have to look up BelRay grease and see if I can find it locally.
