Mercontrol throttle issue

I picked up a 1970's boat about a month ago. I put in new plugs, new wire harness and impeller. When I took her out on the lake yesterday it started just fine and went into forward and reverse with no problem. When it was in reverse I had plenty of power, but in forward not so much. It will go into gear but it has no power at all. I could almost paddle faster. Any thoughts?

Hear any funny noises in F? Engine rev with no/not much forward motion?

That Is pretty strange. Pull the wrap cowl and see that the throttle advances the same in forward and reverse.

Thank you both for the reply. I went out and tinkered around some more on it and it started going. Not sure why it was hanging up. The only thing I can think of was the old grease still on the assembly that moves the carbs. I had put new grease in the zert but not wiped off/out the old. That is the only thing I did and It seemed to start working just fine. Happy Sailing
